The WASR. Well to be fair, it is bringing up the rear of the AK clone market. Unless you want to include crude copies made in some workshop somewhere in the middle east in to the discussion, I am sure they are the lowest end copies of the Kalashnikov around.
Think of it in terms not entirely unlike a Sten. It is an amalgam of plywood, stamped steel and assorted metal parts hastily thrown together in the shape of a firearm. It is a cheap expedient delivery system for the 7.62×39 cartridge. Anyone who can scrape up around $400 or so can get themselves an effective rifle.
