Heard at the blog shoot
Les: Oh, you got some Peltors.
Me: Yes.
Les: You know, they work better if you put the microphone toward the front. You have them on backwards.
Me: Well, you know, I don’t like people sneaking up behind me.
Les: I won’t blog this.

Having the mics pointing backwards is great for gun school, too, since the guy yelling UR DOIN IT RONG is likely to be behind you while you’re doing it wrong.

That guy shoots like a law professor, just saying.

Always wear mine backwards, ain’t no one in front of me on the line!
If I’m just watching, everyone is to the sides of behind, so they work just fine there, too.

While I would never tell anyone else not to buy or shoot one of those .50BMG rifles, I will say that shooting one regularly will damage one’s hearing, even with both plugs and muff. A proper cheekweld to the stock will bring enough of the BOOM through bone conductivity to cause the damage. A few shots would be safe, or even a few shots a month.

Isn’t this the point where, someone, has to ask about how hard it kicks?

With those muzzlebrakes, about like a 12 gauge shooting slugs, or like a .50 Beowulf.

That’s amazing Bill. I have a 450 Bushmaster and I think that thing kicks like a mule. I figured the 50BMG would knock you right back a bit.

This is an even shorter barrel, and a 10 year shoots it too.

You’ll have to page down until you see a guy holding a rifle.

I always run mine with the mic to the back for range commands. There’s seldom anyone in front of the line, and if there is it must be a cease fire – or else you’d better be calling “Cease fire!”
