More Haslam and Guns
Hey, don’t you guys in the press confuse my shameless pandering to gun rights advocates with, you know, actually making gun rights a priority.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Dumbed down and disarmed, that’s the way the ruling elite class likes you. Asking them “why?” indicates you’re too smart for your own good.

What I think Bill Haslam misses is that the right to keep and bear arms is what I call an index issue: true-believer 2A advocacy correlates highly with other key freedom issues like repealing the income tax. The Second Amendment is not just another issue sidetracking the economic issues. A true strong supporter of the RTKBA is likely also to believe in limiting government to its other realms of constitutional authority. I think we can expect Governor Haslam not to be hostile to the RTKBA but not to carry the flag. Now Ron Ramsey….

MJM,
Well-said!
If a candidate or elected official respects the declared right of the people to keep AND CARRY arms, then it is very likely that they will keep their oaths of office to the rest of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and their respective State Constitutions.

Or as Dr. Suzanne Gratia-Hupp said it:
“How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual… as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as a part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care of.”

rickn8or,
Great quote!
She’s the lady who could’ve taken out a perp, but obeyed the then TX law and left her gun in her vehicle and was unarmed when a murdering idiot killed several people including both her parents in a Luby’s Cafeteria.
“… the act of a private citizen in striking down a criminal, who, by raising himself above the law, has placed himself beyond the reach of legal
punishment or control, has been accounted by whole nations, and by some of the best and wisest men, not a crime, but an act of exalted virtue;…” –John
Stuart Mill
Politicians who work to disarm citzens are, at best, accomplices of criminals.
