Can we write that in?
This measure would require the Washington State Seal to depict a tapeworm attached to a taxpayer’s intestine, encircled by the words: Committed to sucking the life blood out of each and every taxpayer.

Well as to write ins I was tempted to write “None of the Above” on a race or 2

As a matter of fact it is a real initiative.

This is better than Denver’s Initiative 300. At least this one is grounded in reality.

My understanding was that no signatures were turned in,and its not on the ballot.
Sadly.

I think we need that seal here in California too.

I’m in Washington State, and it wasn’t on my ballot. Closest thing is a referendum that would if enacted establish a state income tax, something we’ve so far avoided.

Seth is correct – just because an initiative exists doesn’t mean it will make the ballot. 1069, while “real” didn’t garner enough support to make it to the ballot. What a shock.
We do however have a state income tax on the ballot, as well as a pair of initiatives that would shut down the state run liquor stores and get the government out of the booze business.

I’ve heard about the WA income tax from Clue Meter Drang and I can’t believe there’s enough through-and-through insanity to get behind doing that, God I pray for you guys up there, and hope you win on the crazy liquor biz.

“Committed to sucking the life blood out of each and every taxpayer” makes for over-busy highway signs.
You can say that in Latin in, like, five words.
And I’m a modernist: the Greeks probably have one word for it. The Greeks, you know, invented tapeworms.

Luckily, the income tax went over about as well as our new candy tax – around 2/3 opposed the referendum.
On the other hand, it looks like we might not be done with Murray as Senator. Too bad – if any year was ever the year, this would have been it. Close elections in Washington usually get recounted until the Democrat wins – see the recent government races for examples.
