A GOP House and a filibusterable minority in the Senate with the American people probably perfectly okay with gov’t shutdowns should make for some beautiful gridlock.
I’m hoping that the discussions on eliminating the omnibus spending bills would come to pass in the next cycle. If they can vote on smaller chunks of the budget rather than on everything simultaneously, maybe they’ll be able to come to some agreements on the important things and eliminate the pork.
Not holding my breath though. Until earmarks are eliminated people are still going to squeal at the trough.
