Man, that site is fucked up. It crashed my browser. That’s why I generally never click on links.
If it was saying DeLisles were in 9mm, it’s wrong. There may have been a couple 9mm prototypes, but the production gun was .45ACP. It was supposed to drop the empty case into the shell of the .303 magazine, whether that worked as well as advertised is probably an open question.
The book “Of Spies and Strategems” was written by Stanley Lovell who was a scientist for the OSS. He presided over a number of projects including an explosive that looked like flour. The book has all kinds of Good Ideas and Bad Ideas.
His book seems to be in the public domain and you can download it at the Internet Archive. http://www.archive.org/details/ofspiesstratagem001373mbp

Of which half aren’t technically “weapons”, but otherwise neat. I had a model of a Lancaster bomber with the dam buster skipping bomb.

De Lisle was in 9mm? Ejected into the magazine from which it also fed?

That business about the De Lisle is the first I heard. I always heard it was .45 ACP and functioned like a standard SMLE in the action.
My favorite was the “Weaponized Hobo”
