Retention v. speed? I don’t open carry often so I err on the side of speed. When I do open carry, I always have a back up gun.

60% retention, 40% speed. Much more concerned about not losing the weapon while performing my daily activities. Had a Lightweight Commander fall out of a Yaqui Slide one time while taking a road trip when I exited the car at a rest stop. Good thing it was late at night and there place was nearly deserted. YMMV, of course.

The problem is, when you need the gun you’re going to need it right the fuck now. I’d go with speed over retention.
