Actually, that’s exactly what I did, Blake. I don’t need a day — I’ve already opted out twice. And no private room. I want everyone to see what perverts these guys, and I’m not talking about sexual perverts. I’m talking about perversion of liberty.
I will not fly again, at least commercially. I’d rather spend ten days in the car round trip and spend $800 more on gas than a ticket would cost than put up with that bullshit anymore.
I’m driving from Fairbanks, AK to Rochester, NY and back this winter to see my folks for Christmas. I’ll be sure to send off letters explaining why, exactly, I’d rather brave the Alcan highway in December and January and spend over a week driving than fly.
I wish I had the option not to fly, but living in Texas and working in North Dakota with only 24 hours notice before needing to be on the job site makes that extremely difficult.

Why have an opt-out “day?” Why not just opt-out every time you fly? (if you even fly at all at this point)

I’ve opted out of flying.

A lot of people have. The TSA is speeding up the graveyard spin the whole flying industry is facing.

The last time I flew, I opted out.
And the TSA guy took 45 minutes before he started patting me down.
I’ve now started the process for renewing my pilot’s license
