“Nobody was hurt in the incident and police discovered the driver of the van was not armed.”
I don’t know what I’m more upset by, that the Police identified a backfire as a deadly threat…or that when they did make that mistake and act to neutralize it, they failed at that too.
No gun(s) in sight but the retards open fire anyway! This seems to be the SoP of LEOs anymore, shoot first and assess the situation later, if at all. And/or blame the victim of their incompetance for it.
Glad I’m not driving the pirate car these days; it runs rich and the muffler’s blown out. I used to backfire it at will and sometimes incidentally. Scared the snot out of some people between the roar and the bang. Fortunately never one that would return fire.
My old motorcycle would backfire all the time, especially when you roll off the throttle and the unburnt gas hits the hot exhaust.
Never had anybody shoot at me tho. Seems like they would have at least identified the threat before they squeezed off a few rounds. Had they not shot out their own windshield, it probably would have gone unreported.

Just wow. So much wrong here.
On a side note I bet those cops can’t hear real well right now.

That makes them 2x worthless in my book.

Also, the guy is fairly lucky he wasn’t lawfully carrying any guns. Had they turned up a firearm they would have put this poor guy through the ringer.
