Post Starbucks
Remember the Brady Campaign’s failed attempt at getting Starbucks to prohibit carry at their stores? Well, this will make them cry. Seems a barista violated a no gun policy and used the gun to save himself. Now, the chain is reconsidering their no gun policy.
We’re winning.

Is he a baristo? Maybe once you enter a coffee shop all language conventions go on hold.

Sounds like reality is setting in on the anti gunners. Oh and I’ll have a mocha cafe valium vodka latte…..
Couldn’t resist.

If I’m ever in the area, these guys are getting my business. Paid leave and counseling gained my greatest respect, a willingness to re-evaluate the weapons policy is icing on the cake at this point.
I wonder if any other companies could handle things this way…cough…Pizza Hut…cough.

That kiosk is right across the street from the University of Oregon. I’m glad to hear the companies measures and supportive response for their employees, and also from the DA. And yes, I will be picking up a cup (super good coffee) in a few mins here..
(lol, and I asked my friends what a male barista was called and most said Baristo, or what about Bro-isto?)

Got an email reply to the letter I sent to the chain:
We wanted to take a moment to thank you for your thoughts and concerns regarding the recent tragic shooting in Eugene, Oregon. Our employee is doing well despite the circumstances. Our focus has been to support his recovery by giving him a months paid leave, counseling, and having his job available to him when he is ready to return. Dutch Bros. Coffee has been reluctant to release information because the second armed robber is still at large. The Eugene Police Department and our Safety Committee have been working together with the outcome of creating the safest work environment possible for our baristas.
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to express your thoughts and concerns. It means the world to us and our baristas. We wish you the happiest of holidays!
