I made the mistake of my cellphone number to my hotmail account. I’d get all sorts of spam texts from them.
I changed the number and forgot to remove it from my hotmail account. Problem is, the only way to remove a cell number is they sent a text message containing a security code to that number. You enter the code, and the number gets removed. I don’t have that cell number anymore, so whoever has it now must be pissed at me for all the spam texts they get. LOL

The carriers have made SMS such a convoluted mess and expensive that spam is rare.
