The whole tooth
Last night, Junior discovered she had her first loose tooth. She doesn’t appreciate Dad telling her the various ways to pull them out. But I’m thinking something like this:
Man, where did the time go?

Find a good children’s dentist that will not traumatize her.

Enjoy the little things like this that she brings to you. Especially now. You have more, well, interesting things to look forward to with her in future.
My almost-17 year old is telling me daily that she is going to college next fall, just to hear me scream “NOOOOOOOOO!” every time. She says she’s getting me used to the idea, so I won’t completely break down when she actually goes off on her own.

My 6 year old daughter lost her third tooth. She let me try the floss tied to the tooth thing, but it kept slipping off. I finally just gave a tug with some tissue for grip and out it popped. Has to be nearly falling out though.
Where does the time go, indeed!

My daughter pulls her own teeth. Her favorite thing is to force her squeamish mother to “feel it! Its loose.” And then wiggle it in front of her. Family entertainment!
Wouldn’t let me do that though!

So you’ve explained the string and ATV scenario?

That was awesome!!!! I used to pull my own teeth too and looked forward to doing it too. Then all my permanent teeth grew in and no more teeth to pull. And then there were the 4 wisdom teeth I had all taken out in one shot. The doctor let me keep 3 of the 4 that didn’t get crushed.

Used to do things with my son’s teeth like, grab hold and say “I’m going to count to three” then “One” YANK “…two …three”. Got that yank in before he’d built the tension up. He was usually outraged, but it went pretty easy.

I once lost a tooth while wrestling with a brother.
Though I don’t think that method works for most girls.

My jr’s first tooth was pulled with a bubble blower by his younger sister. They both were laughing hysterically. Last year they tried tying one of his teeth to a remote control car and yanking it out that way. Wouldn’t work but man I love when they get laughing. Have fun with it but don’t let her get scared over it. My daughters first lost tooth was kind of tough. But now she is a champ.
