Yea, my first thought was that I don’t mind meeting in the middle, but the anti gun rights crowd is going to have to take a HUGE step backwards to get there.

No, all the lawsuits are because we do not want to be at the middle ground, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The “middle ground” is a losing proposition for all pro-rights activists, whether we are talking about equal treatment under the law, free expression of religions, or self-defense.
Likewise, there is a difference between “middle ground” and “middle point”.
