Smith and Wesson M&P22

Guns and Coffee has a pic of the coming offering from S&W. I’ve been wanting to try out the M&P since I liked how it feels. One reason, I thought, to not get one was there wasn’t a 22LR version or conversion kit. Guess that just changed.

MSRP is supposed to be $419

Weee, another low round volume copy cat of a real handgun.

The P22 is crap. The Sig Mosquito is crap. This doesn’t give me the warm fuzzies at all.

And that they charge more for a post metal piece of crap than an actual, functional .22 just boggles the mind.

Since you’ve indicated you don’t like the P22 and the Sig Mosquito, what do you like in the (projected) price range of the M&P22? Browning Buckmark? Ruger?

  4. TomcatsHanger Says:

The Brownings and the Rugers both work much better for longer.

If you really want a .22 version of a bigger handgun, a good conversion kit will at least get you the same grip (and probably close enough trigger).

Pot metal slides just don’t stand up.

If you really must have a small .22, get one of the baby Berettas.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
