What was the point of the magazine ban again?

As a “B” class Revolver shooter (compared to “C” Single Stack), I have to add two things:
Hooray!
And
It wasn’t an IPSC match. It was a USPSA match. There are almost no IPSC matches in the US.
Speaking as a club’s USPSA program director and certified RO, there is a difference.
IPSC’s a different game for places with lousy gun laws.
My apologies for the pedantry.

Yes, WPZ is technically correct. USPSA is the US representative for IPSC, and USPSA uses a different set of rules from the IPSC rules. However, USPSA also owns Steel Challenge (SCSA), so to call a match a USPSA match could also be confusing to a reader, as then it could have also been a Steel Challenge match. I suppose you could call it a USPSA/IPSC match, but if you call it an IPSC match and it’s in the USA, most everyone knows what you are talking about.
