From Bill, thoughts on the magazine ban. And what’s with supposed conservatives playing useful idiot on this issue?

“supposed conservatives”
Do you mean Cheney?
Easy, he wants a better obit in the New York Times. Remember Goldwater did the same thing.
If you turn against guns toward the end, you will always receive a favorable obit from the NYT.

Shootin’ Buddy and Chas,
For those who “turn against guns in the end”, “the fire” was never there!
Just as with the aforementioned Cheney, he’s one of the supposed conservatives who doesn’t ever say what his real intentions are except when he is with his ruling elite “old friends”:

The Ruling Class is all about never having to say “no”, especially if it wins a few more votes.
Let’s just say that these neocons and others are “Dancing in the blood” and leave it at that.

In the world of progressives the gun issue is used as a means to an end. It is viewed in this context (the Giffords shooting) as a liability so ergo let us limit it. The problem with this is the same problem with any Realpolitik maneuvering in that it undermines a principled position later on. The real lesson here is concerning issue of your rights progressives like Noonan, Cheney, etc. should not be trusted. They have been in DC for too long and think like the statists there. For the record, Cocktail parties blow, give me a pig pickin’ any day!
