Get ’em fast. I showed up at the local Cabela’s at Noon the first day of the sale. Guy at the counter said they sold their entire 200 gun allotment before 10:00 a.m. (they opened at 8:00)
They were giving rainchecks for the S&W Bodyguard/Laser deal- said S&W promised a shipment and it had not arrived yet.
Wow this many comments without somebody mentioning how they used to buy them for $15 back in the day.
Still without being a wet blanket, they aren’t making any more of them, and they aren’t getting any cheaper, so don’t think they’ll be any cheaper on a mythical rainy day.
On Thursday (the starting day of the sale) we started with over 100 Mosins.
When I left at 5:00 someone said we were down to less than 10.
I think they were gone before I finished clocking out and getting out of the parking lot.
The ones we get are pretty good guns at the regular $149 price, darn good at $99 and apparently irresistable at $90.
If you want *any* gun in an upcoming Cabela’s sale ad I recommend being there the day the sale starts, right when the doors open. That way you *should* get one (assuming they actually *sent* us any of them).
I just ordered mine last night to have shipped to the Buda, TX (just south of Austin) store. They still have a bunch of ’em, just depends on the store. Mine should arrive in a couple days.

Phred beat me to it.
I guess if you have a Cabelas in the same state as you, it might be worth the $20 to see the wares, but otherwise… yeah, cheap is good :).

J&G sales have them for about the same price as AIM as well, and have had em at that price for a year or more.
