“The state bird, the beehive, they’re fun and engaging,” Moss said. “Students will be coloring and drawing pictures and answering quizzes about guns and that seems inappropriate to me.”
How about teaching the kids some gun safety, and the history of it keeping them safe and alive, you JACK WAGON.

Personally I would have made the M2, ‘Ma Duce’, .50 cal machinegun as the state firearm!
After all, Ma Duce has dome far more in combat than the 1911, right?

Tennessee definitely needs to do this. In the very excellent movie “Shooter” when Bob Lee Swagger and his FBI agent friend, turned sniper trainee, arrive in Athens, TN for some elder “wisdom”, he says, “Welcome to Tennessee, Patron State of shootin’ stuff”.
