The Tennessean has an interesting bit on Leonard Embody, who has a habit of challenging Tennessee gun laws in interesting ways.

That guy is a bigger danger to us than any lawmaker.

You are right? Anyone who exercises their rights in a manner that you find distasteful is a much bigger danger than any lawmaker….

I am right.
Thanks to him, CLEOs in TN can now legally deny NFA weapons without a specific reason.
Thanks to him, Costco started posting legally binding signs.
Thanks to him, I get to spend time talking to legislators about him instead of talking about things that might actually advance our position. It’s entirely possible that his shenanigans have cost us Constitutional Carry in TN for a decade, because people with “State Representative” and “State Senator” say things like “Even with a permit, you get people carrying AKs through the park. What happens when anyone can do that?”
And none of these things would have happened without his actions.

So effectively you are blaming one person for what is not going right in Tennessee gun politics??? Is that what I am being told… How do you explain the Tennessee politics before he came along??? Blaming everything on one person is like blaming violence on television even though violence existed before television… You would have an argument only if the Tennessee gun politics was perfect before he started. Putting the cart before the horse so to speak…
These senators and reps were not making the laws in our favor before this man came along. Why would they suddenly start if he did not come along???
As for costco they are a known antigun establishment.
Also if the new atf forms are not some sort of an april fools joke the cleo signoff will become moot…

John, I suggest you take a look at what TN has done in the last couple of years and get back to us.

I have. Flim flam acts to attract gullible voters… Nothing hardcore… Seems to work incredibly well though.

Who cares about CLEO sign off? Just do an NFA trust, and the CLEO signoff is a moot point.

Apparently Embody/kwikrnu’s lawyer has never actually met him, given he describes him as “a very nice gentleman”… I cannot even begin to count the number of forums that whackadoodle has been kicked and banned off of.
Great job with the strawman, by the by!

“Just do an NFA trust, and the CLEO signoff is a moot point.”
Leaving aside the fact that the trust is not the perfect solution some say it is, I believe Embody managed to get his attempt at that rejected. At the least I know he was trying.

Excellent point Diomed. He actually tries to do things himself. Not wait for a huge organization to do it for him.
