I’d be worried some other Republicans re: the mag ban than Rand Paul.
But yes, adding the DEA and the BATF to the chopping block would be a good start on restoring Constitutional government and eliminating “the powers not delegated” to the Federal Government.
As I’ve often said, eliminate the BATF and re-assign its agents to the Border Patrol and let them treat illegal aliens like they treat American citizens exercising their 2nd Amendment rights! And that would be something for which there is “delegated powers”, i.e. the United States SHALL…protect the States against invasion…” (Article IV, Section 4)
Wow – it is an exciting list. Some of the cuts would adversely affect me financially. In fact, my job would be gone. It’s ok; from the point of principle the legislators should be acting in the interest of the country. Secondly, they needn’t worry about me. That’s my job and I’m capable. Thirdly, I’m seriously afraid the cutting isn’t going to happen at all and the country will go to fiscal hell leaving my children without the framework for freedom and property rights that so many Americans before have enjoyed.
While it is a decent beginning list it will never happen. Too many golden oxen are gored. Just sell off the Fed’s land holdings-or, better yet, declare them open for homesteading. Oil shale development, alone, would bring the Fed lots of additional tax dollars and help close the gap on fuel use(drill here, drill now).
Guaman, it’s great to hear your awesome perspective. I look forward to more. I think it’s great that we have this information formulated on paper for all to see.

Unfortunately, I didn’t see a line in there to eliminate BATF and the DEA. I may have missed it though.
