Service

Did Colin Goddard really serve? I don’t really care, though lying about it would not lend to credibility.

Leonard Embody Update

David Randolph Smith, no doubt gloating, emails that Embody’s case against the state has been dismissed. Not a surprise.

Crosman AR Upper

Turn your AR lower into an air rifle

From Gun Porn

Crosman® Corporation, long known for innovation and quality in products for the shooting sports, has introduced a new pre-charged pneumatic (PCP), modular, adaptive, competition sporting air rifle (MSR), the MAR177™.

According to Crosman Product Manager, Terry Neumaster, “The Crosman MAR177 PCP Rifle is designed to support match air rifle competitors, using the traditional service rifle of National Match series competitions. To better serve the requirements of elite competitors, we’ve partnered with two-time, National NRA High Power Rifle Champion, Dennis DeMille of Creedmoor Sports Inc.,” he said.

At $900, it’s a bit steep. That would buy a lot of ammo.

Washington Post Discovers Basic Economics

From an “analysis”:

The number of guns with high-capacity magazines seized by Virginia police dropped during a decade-long federal prohibition on assault weapons, but the rate has rebounded sharply since the ban was lifted in late 2004, according to a Washington Post analysis.

No shit! Next, you’re gonna tell me there’s were more incandescent light bulbs before the .gov banned them.

I guess “nuisance” means “someone does not approve”

In Collierville, a man advertises a bondage/slave adult themed bed and breakfast. Apparently, advertising it as such on the internet makes it a nuisance.

Even more on magazine restrictions

Ian:

we’re fighting this because to allow them to define the number of bullets you “need” in a magazine is to allow them to define the number of bullets you “need”, period.

Also, if the limit is arbitrarily set at ten, it will later be changed to five. Etc.

A look at gun law

From Bill, thoughts on the magazine ban. And what’s with supposed conservatives playing useful idiot on this issue?

Another packing rep

Rep. Ellmers to go armed. Good. But you can’t do it in a snowstorm in your state.

Guess that’s one way to do it

Making bombs to clear snow. Police were not amused.

We must ban knives

No calls for that. Doesn’t fit the narrative. Via Insty.

Bloomberg’s Gun Control Announcement

Jacob says one is coming Monday. I tend to agree with his assessment. Mayors Against Guns just did a press release on lack of funding, which is really lack of reporting.

Raging Judge Update

ATF says no to the raging judge and the lever action 410 pistol from Rossi, says Gunblast (at end of video):

Stay tuned. Could be the shotgun ruling? Though not imported.

Grab Popcorn

Hawaii’s governor on Obama’s birth certificate:

Abercrombie said the controversy over publicly producing the document “has a political implication for 2012 that we simply cannot have.”

Update to ATF Shotgun Ruling

Joshua Prince:

I have since learned that the new ruling is going to be akin to the 1994 Assault Weapon Ban, in that, shotguns with bayonet lugs, large capacity magazines…etc or commonly referred to as “evil parts,” will no longer be importable as they have “no sporting purpose.”

Interesting. Is the Saiga sporterized in the US or abroad?

More on ATFs’ coming shotgun ruling

Tam says good night to the Saiga.

Infiniti Performance Line

I do want to test drive one of these:

We would love see this evolve into something that would go head-to-head with BMW’s M cars or Mercedes AMG line.

They squeezed another 18 or so HP out of the 3.7 and added some sporty upgrades. Looks nice too. Infiniti should drop a twin turbo from the GTR in one of those. That would be slick.
