Another of those “CCW Killers”

Man touted in VPC’s CCW Killers “study” has no charges filed against him and used gun in lawful self-defense.

And then, there was one

Well, not yet, but soon it looks like:

Wisconsin, one of two states in the nation that prohibits citizens from carrying a concealed weapon, is expected to reverse this law during the upcoming state legislative session despite shootings in Arizona that highlighted lax U.S. gun laws.

Only Illinois and Wisconsin forbid carrying concealed weapons. A Republican was elected governor and Republicans won majorities in both houses of the Wisconsin legislature in November, bringing many more supporters of gun rights to the state government.

More guns banned by McCarthy’s Bill

20 shot revolver. A 12 shot bolt gun.

I go with reasoned but civil is always optional

Don Surber:

I do not want civil discourse

He recalls all that civility from the left.

I’m usually civil. But there are ideas and ideals that are abhorrent in every way to me. They run counter to principles. You don’t get a say sometimes. And when someone is using one of these ideals in a argument, I often find it best to tell them to fuck right off. Same when someone is redefining the argument.

Billy: You step in it: you bloody walk through it like a grown-up.

Shooting stats

Caleb runs the numbers on his shooting this year. Is there an app for that or do you guys who do this just write it down?

A look at market share

Size matters.

McCarthy’s Magazine Ban

When not lending her expertise on firearms to the press, McCarthy is busing writing dumb bills that have no chance of passing. The latest is her attempt at banning regular capacity magazines. It’s a dumb bill that would ban the Henry Repeating Rifle.

Even Mayors Against Guns Bloomberg says regular capacity magazines save lives.

Fortunately, the bill has little chance of passing.

At gun shows, the market speaks. And is not scared.

The Narrative

No shortage of press saying the Tucson shootings have rekindled interest in gun control, with words like energizes and reawakened.

Except that, you know, it’s the same people just getting a brief moment to say the same things they always say.

And, you know, the debate has not really been rekindled when you look at the facts.

Do not try to catch a dropped gun

ND at WalMart:

Police said a man’s gun fell out of it’s holster and fired one shot inside a Wal-Mart store off NW U.S. 90 in Lake City Friday morning.

But this is odd:

The Lake City Police Department said LJ Johnson had the concealed firearm. They said the gun and it’s holster landed on the floor. The firearm then discharged through the holster and into an unknown location.

Was it in the holster or not?

In GA

A bunch of shotguns and cameras controlled remotely via webcams. For varmints, I guess.

Off to a great start

Bill Haslam’s rocking start and he signs an executive order that eliminates a requirement for the governor and top aides to disclose how much they earn.

Bill was a little upset at the press and the lefties (but I repeat myself) digging into his earnings during the campaign. It’s not as bad as it sounds though:

Under the order signed after Haslam took office on Saturday, the disclosure rules applying to himself and senior administration officials will be the same as those for members of the General Assembly. Those only requires them to list sources of income, but not how much they make.

Protection

Police don’t enforce the law because they are outnumbered.

Strict Gun Control Will Seem Like The War On Drugs

Says Jeffrey Miron. True. Have you seen how ATF operates? In fact, there’s a blog called just that.

I’m sure there will be new XDs and ARs too

At SHOT, a new Judge. The Raging Judge in 28ga.
