Epic thread is epic
Apparently, everyone on the internet has linked to this post because the comments are that good. My favorite is this one:
Unlike developments Airstrip One, sorryfeel Minitrue. All proles doubleplus unlike Minitrue.
Some Minitrue also Thinkpol. But Thinkpol everywhere. Most Minitrue peopleguys no choice but their job.
And where go if unlove Big Brother?
Heh. Even better, Michael, the guy who started it, is being a good sport:
As much as I hate to admit it, the recent developments in this thread are of such epic proportions that I now understand my error. I didn’t ask for any of this and realize that internet comedy gold like this cannot be planned.

I blogged and linked:
This is the gun community
Smart, witty, friendly.
Not angry and stupid like too many anti-gun people claim.
We need to put our best face forward. This funny thread represents the real gun owner well. We know how to laugh, not wallow in self-pity and artificial angst.

The thread was hilarious. Gun people are great people. If we lived to the negative stereotype, there would have been angry comments, by now. That isn’t who we are. The comments are exceptionally witty and represent intelligent, well read people.

This thread is one of the funniest things of I’ve seen on teh Intertubes.
Where is Prof. Reynolds? If this isn’t worthy of an Insta-lanche, nothing is…

Kudos to Michael, the OP, for rolling with the punches!

It even helped to highlight the absurdity of the TSA situation. Trying to side with them and make excuses for them is just as ridiculous as making excuses for any other number of inane or offensive things.

I gotta say, I actually agree with Michael’s first post *and* the responders both. I do feel bad for most of the TSA agents, but I still squeel like a school-girl at the thought of a restaurant denying them service. (Per the Nazi analogy, most German soldiers in WWII couldn’t give a rats-ass about taking over the world, but I’d still shoot their ass.)
