First they came for the high volume toilets, and I said nothing, because I already had mine installed.
Then they came for the wonderfully powerful shower head that blasted 4 gallons of hot water per minute over my aching shoulders, and I said nothing because mine is made of chromed brass and will last longer than I will live.
Now they are coming for the incandescent bulbs, and I only have about a dozen in the closet.
I’d rather see the return of Habeas corpus, the end to the perpetual PATRIOT act, real tax reform, actual cuts in the budget rather than just a reduction in the planned increase, or some fucking Sunshine Gun Laws.
If all you GOP manage to do is give me freedom of consumer choice with light bulbs, I’m going to be sorely disappointed in your TEA party ass.
I for one am glad to see that the Republicans have the courage and resolve to stand up for the truly important, grave issue we face as a nation …. Like light bulbs.
Repeal or not, I’ll just use my lifetime supply as I’d planned. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. But yeah, there are bigger fish to fry. Just have to get the proles to understand you’re on their side. Proles can pretty well grok light bulbs. Habeas corpus may be a little abstract to lead off with.
It’s the low-hanging fruit. There’s enough resentment in both parties over the ban that it’s probably going to be fairly easy (though not guaranteed) to overturn.
The question is whether it will get past the teleprompter-in-chief.
Remember, boys and girls, that “appliance” and “hard service” light bulbs are exempt from the federal ban as are incandescents in shapes other than the classic “A-type” bulb.
If it fits in the screw base, is frosted or not according to your preference, and has the same light output, you will probably be as happy with any non-A incandescent.

Those legislators better get busy.

But, but, what about the 40 years’s worth of bulbs I’m hoarding?
