You ain’t Rosa Parks

Nobody gets thrown off the lifeboat.

Robb: Carry what you will. Be polite while doing so. But most importantly, be prepared for the consequences of your actions.

This was just to own. Not carry.

How big is “high stakes”?

And this: The detective played for hours — leaving after he lost all his chips, records show.

I wonder how it would have gone if he’d won?

Quote of the Day

JulieBorowski:

I witnessed someone calling Ron Paul people a “cult” while eating a cake shaped like Reagan’s face at #CPAC.

Heh.

SERO GM6 Lynx

Seen here. 50 cal that you can literally carry around:

Highly-efficient, special, multi-purpose weapon for land-, air-, territorial and independent armed forces. Its task is to destroy – with its shell, which delivers significantly (5-8 times) greater energy comparing with the ammunition of the conventionally used small arms – the enemy’s important pinpoint targets, armoured rifle troops, light shelters and buildings, radio- electronic constructions, missile launchers and hovering helicopters within a 600-800m shooting range.

Because when you normalize OC

The only jerks are those pooping their pants about it:

[at a TFA meeting] I met an very agitated man (30-40ish, thin build, receding hairline, long, stringy dark hair, glasses) at the front door. I wondered why he rather snarled at me as we passed in the entryway…Shortly thereafter, I heard him loudly “discussing” things with the woman at the counter, complaining about not being given his money back. I went my merry way & enjoyed a nice supper, good company, & an interesting discussion from you & Bob, as well as the comments from the floor. However, I also noticed this guy back & forth at the front, in & out of the building, & finally, filling a couple of to-go boxes.

I asked one of the women at the front what his problem was. She said he was upset that “some people”were wearing guns in the restaurant. He’d complained to her, & demanded that she call the police. She told him that we were regulars, there was nothing wrong, & that even if the police were called, they would show up & be wearing guns, too, & asked if that would further upset him!

Heh. And that is why we should play nice. So the other side comes off as loons. Not us.

More on Michigan OCers taking shotguns to libraries

Labrat wonders if they’re high.

Sebastian notes there could be something to it:

OTOH, if the folks who are engaging in attention seeking behavior now need to up the ante to rifles, because pistols just don’t grab attention like they used to, maybe there is something to the OC theory.

Good point.

More discussion at Robb’s.

And, finally, Melody brings it:

In order to get open carry back, you need to normalize open carry all over again. In order to do that, you need to make as little of a deal of it as possible. In other words, in order to normalize open carry TRY ACTUALLY LOOKING NORMAL. Be polite. Be kind. Be unobtrusive. Be so normal that when people notice the gun they don’t assume you’re a criminal. Do it enough and open carry will be normal again, instead of just being a recognized right.

Yes.

A look at the mechanics.

Short Bus

Bloomberg to take his gun control campaign on the road:

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, co-chair of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, appeared on “Good Morning America” Wednesday to announce a new campaign to raise national awareness regarding flaws the coalition of 550 U.S. mayors sees in the federal system of background checks for firearm purchases.

Displaying a tally of the number of Americans killed with guns since January’s Tucson, Ariz., shootings, the “National Drive to Fix Gun Checks” truck will spend two months driving across at least 25 states, Bloomberg said.

Doesn’t he have a city to run* or something?

* into the ground, apparently.

Calls for gun control in Tennessee

Well, one guy. I’m not sure what I find dumber. His ignorance on the topic. Or that he tells everyone that his home is defenseless.

Stonewalling
