Judicial Approval
Kidnap victim requests carry permit. Because it’s in New Jersey, he is denied. Judicial approval means no, unless you’re connected.

Why all permits of any sort should be “shall issue”

From reading the article, I actually wonder if the thugs who kidnapped him are connected. Evidently the victim is going to testify against them and that is one of the reasons he wants a permit. I’m guessing the judge doesn’t want to issue it because he would lose a golf buddy.
Permits should be shall issue if they’re going to be required, period.

Hey, he’d have to be dead to get a permit issued in Maryland…
‘Tis a sad state of affairs when one is more likely to get a permit in Kalifornia.

The judge is using the cabin doesn’t leak when it doesn’t rain routine. Since the guy was already kidnapped he does not need to have a gun…

Sell the business. Move out of NJ.
Living in NJ, or investing in a business there, unless you are politically connected, or a welfare bum, is his first mistake.

There’s a SAF-aided suit on this very thing in the courts right now; both sides have asked for summary judgement.
Mueller et al vs Maenza et al is the name
