I’m considered a paranoid freak by all who know me and I don’t care that google stores my info. Cell phone companies all ready have access to my data to do traffic analysis. Being able to have the same contact list on my phone, tablet, laptop, or just some random computer with a net connection is pretty freaking convenient.
I am also reading this blog on my rooted Xoom with a kernel I compile myself. It may not be perfect in security and privacy, but Android kicks the ass of anyone else’s platform for openness.

That lead will go away fast when prospective Android buyers (me) figure out that Google wants to store all our phone numbers for “security” reasons.
A snoop too far, so those of us who worry about snoops and their databases will stay away from Google products now.
