First, thoughts go out to those folks in Japan. And to those on coastal cities that could get hit by the wave.
But Tam notes:
Usually Mother Nature’s special effects extravaganzas occur in backwards lands full of howling savages, like Haiti or New Zealand. Japan, however, is a modern, technologically-advanced nation; where New Zealand has far more sheep than people, Japan has something like two or three hundred cameras for every human being

Some of the pictures remind me of the ’89 quake in San Francisco. Especially the highway turned on it’s side.

Japans’ death toll is terrible, but @ least their cars float really well.
