As long as we define “persons” as prosecutors and public defenders, yes, it will do that.

Well, they define “persons” as “A person licensed under Section 45-9-101 to carry a concealed pistol”
Section 45-9-101 is the section for carry permits. I think the confusion is that it also allows prosecutors and public defenders to carry without a license while they are performing their official duties.

I was in court in Mississippi recently and dutifully left my carry weapon in my glove box.
