The more things change
Seen on facebook:
Thank God we voted in the Era of Hopenchange in 2008, so we no longer have to see our military used to bomb the crap out of human rights-abusing, tyrannical despots in oil-rich Arab nations. Oh, wait…
and
The only difference between Obama and Bush is that Obama spends ten times the money.

Hope and change at it’s best

“The only difference between Obama and Bush is that Obama spends ten times the money.”
BS! Bush LED the coalitions in Iraq and Afghanistan. The FRENCH and British are leading Obama in Libya. Bush, for whatever you want to say about him, was a leader. Obama is a reluctant follower.
March 19th, 2011 at 11:50 pm
And, arguably, Our Glorious President has accomplished half as much with his 10-times-the-spending, simply because he can never make up his mind…
March 20th, 2011 at 12:00 am
Make up his mind?? You say that like he actually makes a decision.
March 20th, 2011 at 7:01 am
Tell me again where the Congressional authority is for this action? This is demonstrably NOT part of the war on terror nor a fight against piracy.
March 20th, 2011 at 8:12 am
Obama not decisive? Did you not see him hit those brackets?
BAM! Kansas! No dithering whatsoever. He made a decision and articulated quite clearly to the American people his reasons for doing so.

Cargosquid,
The authority for this next act of war is NOT from Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Cosntitution from whence it should, but from the Council on Foreign Relations and the UN. Our military is being used and ABUSED as the army of the New World Order…as admitted:
“It is the sacred principles enshrined in the UN Charter to which we will HENCEFORTH pledge our allegiance.”–George Herbert Walker Bush, Speech at the UN, February 1, 1992
“In defense of the World Order, U.S. soldiers would have to kill and die…We are not going to achieve a NEW WORLD ORDER without paying for it in BLOOD as well as in words and MONEY.”– Aurthur Schlesinger, Jr., July / August ’95 Foreign Affairs – Council on Foreign Relations, Flagship Publication

The worst part is the lying. Just as Clinton told us we would be in Kosovo for 6 months (well over a decade ago) and now Obama is telling us “days not weeks”.
WTF are we going to do in days?
If we’re going to protect part of the population from Ghkdaffeay, well, that’s going to require that we stay there for as long as Kaghdeaffeiy is in power.
And I’m sure he’ll be happy to just sit there and let us bomb his military without using his petrodollars to pay for some terrorists to do stuff and stuff.
I mean, it’s not as if he’s ever been involved in terrorist attacks on the US or GB.

Hey, can somebody tell me when Cindy Sheehan will be starting her vigil in Hyde Park?
March 20th, 2011 at 11:00 am
I would not be surprised to find out that Cindy Sheehan is protesting Obama.
I also would not be surprised to find that the mainstream media is completely ignoring her now that she has outlived her usefulness.

Barry – Like Bush But With A Nobel Price Prize
March 20th, 2011 at 12:15 pm
Sure it’s a typo, mike, but I think you’ve revealed a bigtime dirty-scandi truth right there. Price Prize. Heh.
March 20th, 2011 at 12:33 pm
Give it a break with the “Barry is teh Bush!” comparisons.
They are not even in the same league.
For instance, this time we are on the side of Al Quedas franchise in Libya.

Sar-chasm, for the impaired.
March 20th, 2011 at 12:53 pm
There is another difference: Bush got authorization from congress to go to war.
March 20th, 2011 at 2:14 pm
Maybe Obama is trying for a second Nobel Peach Prize.
March 20th, 2011 at 2:46 pm
Steve,
You’re correct. I think maybe it was last year, if I recall correctly, that Cindy Sheehan held an anti-war rally near here in Nashville, TN. And you’re correct about the media, since a MORE leftist president is in office, the media is OK with the continuation and expansion of wars.
As Barry is getting tough on Libya which did not attack us, our southern border remains largely undefended, the INVASION allowed to continue and part of Arizona is UNDER OCCUPATION by foreign and drug cartel armed forces.
And, of course, no reporting or opinion on that flagrant “treason” (Article III, Section 3, U.S. Constitution) from the left-right media.
March 20th, 2011 at 2:52 pm
Well, almost no reporting on the foreign OCCUPATION of part of Arizona and the treasonous non-response. There was this, but almost nothing since that I’ve heard or seen:

Kristopher,
I suppose Obama is using the declared national emergency from 9-14-2001 which he continued:
THE WHITE HOUSE
Office of the Press Secretary
___________________________________________________________________________
For Immediate Release September 10, 2009
TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES:
Section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act, 50 U.S.C. 1622(d), provides for the automatic termination of a national emergency unless, prior to the anniversary date of its declaration, the President publishes in the Federal Register and transmits to the Congress a notice stating that the emergency is to continue in effect beyond the anniversary date. Consistent with this provision, I have sent to the Federal Register the enclosed notice, stating that the emergency declared with respect to the terrorist attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001, is to continue in effect for an additional year.
The terrorist threat that led to the declaration on September 14, 2001, of a national emergency continues. For this reason, I have determined that it is necessary to continue in effect after September 14, 2009, the national emergency with respect to the terrorist threat.
BARACK OBAMA
THE WHITE HOUSE,
September 10, 2009.
Congress has long since abdicated its Article I, Section 8 duty to presidential warlords.
March 20th, 2011 at 4:09 pm
OK then. Qaddafi was obviously a part of the 9-11 terrorist incident … o.O ?
I seem to recall folks who were upset that Iraq was not … dead silence now.
When do we start seeing Obamahitler posters at protests?
March 20th, 2011 at 6:27 pm
Yes, Cindy Sheehan is protesting already.
Don’t like the woman much, but I give her lots of points for being consistent.
March 20th, 2011 at 6:48 pm
So, I see online that radical left wing socialist Michael Moore is now slamming Obama. Makes me yet again so very sadly thankful that Obama is who he is, because if he were as mind-bogglingly left as his former Hollyweird friends and supporters would prefer him to be, we’d be in far, far worse shape than the sorry state we’re in right now. My God, can you imagine it? It’s bad enough having a know-nothing wanna-be socialist puppet as a president…I can’t go on without getting sick.
March 20th, 2011 at 6:55 pm
Kristopher,
Whatever works. Continued declared national emergency or a UN resolution…just so the Constitution is ignored or violated.
But ddin’t you hear, the Patriot Act presumes all of us to be terrorists–unless we can prove otherwise.
March 20th, 2011 at 7:06 pm
He WAS right:
“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” -Senator Barack Obama, 12/20/2007
So why doesn’t he act to repel the invasion of our southern border and the OCCUPATION in Arizona?

Ron W:
Do you have a link for that quote? It would make a great QOTD, but I’d like to have a source to go with it.
March 21st, 2011 at 11:12 am
Found it. It was his written response to a list of questions presented by the Boston Globe in 2007.
