ATF sending guns to Mexico
That’s why Jaquez tells CBS News he was so alarmed to hear his own agency may have done the opposite: encouraged U.S. gun dealers to sell to suspected traffickers for Mexico’s drug cartels. Apparently, ATF hoped that letting weapons “walk” onto the street – to see where they’d end up – would help them take down a cartel.

“ATF hoped that letting weapons “walk” onto the street – to see where they’d end up – would help them take down a cartel.”
BS, All along they have been trying to make the case for more gun laws based on the number of weapons coming from the US to Mexico. They were intentionally trying to increase the number of crime scene/seized weapons that point back to this country.
“The trying to see where they go and take down cartels” is the altruistic, BS back up story is all.

The excuse falls apart like tissue paper in a tornado if you spend five seconds thinking about it. Unfortunately the vast majority of the public that even hears about this will buy it hook, line, and sinker.
