Obviously, compensating for the size of her penis
Beauty queen fends off intruder. She gets bonus points for using a pink 38 snubby but:
Meghan Brown had fired her pink .38-caliber handgun only inside a shooting range. Even there, she said, she wasn’t very good.
The 2009 Miss Tierra Verde, 25 and a slender brunet, had trouble pulling back the trigger. When she did manage, she said she almost never hit the target.
Training and practice are in order.

She held her fire until her fiance was out of the line of fire.
She hit the home invader with enough of the 4 shots she fired that he did not get up to continue his attack.
She neither wounded him slightly enough that he could continue his attack, nor executed him on the ground; she shot to stop the attack, successfully.
Sounds to me like maybe she could give lessons. Or maybe all that poise she learned as a beauty queen paid off.

Miss green land???

Her training seems to have been up to snuff (which was amply demonstrated on the invader), but it sounds like a different gun is in order. I bet it’s a snubby with a horrendously heavy trigger pull (like most), and that’s throwing off her aim. I had similar problems with my S&W 442 (though that was exacerbated by essential tremors). The problem is not present with my P3AT, because the trigger pull is much lighter (while still being heavy enough to make an ND from an accidental trigger pull unlikely).
I bet someone gave her the “You’re a woman, you should get a snubnose .38” spiel, rather than recommending that she try different guns and pick one she can use easily.

Sounds like a little situational awareness is in order.
“Surveillance cameras cover the home, inside and out.”
All of the cameras in the world are useless, unless you actually look at them.

Nah. She just needs better grips.

There’s something fishy about this story. Opening the door at 3 am for an unknown person with a significant history of drug crimes? A home with an unusual number of large parties? “Arborists” with a 2700 sq ft home in a community with a median income of $86,000?

Anybody else think it is suspect that comment are disabled on the story? Or am I just paranoid?

“The 2009 Miss Tierra Verde, 25 and a slender brunet, had trouble pulling back the trigger”
Most double action revlovers have a hammer with a spur on it so that one can manually cock it for single action shooting which has a MUCH lighter pull than double action. Did’nt her instucter tell her that? Or does she have a hammerless revolver?

So, Jack- When did people walk around with their police records taped to their bodies? They explained why friends occasionally came over that late. I’d do the same thing for my friends rather than let them drive home.
I have a couple of cousins and a really good friend that are arborists, and they make more money than this guy.
People, you don’t help the gun rights community by claiming every single self-defense shooting “fishy”. And EVERY single time there is a story like this, somebody will say it sounds “fishy”, or “we’re not getting the whole story” like it’s the frakking Kennedy assassination.

sorry, jack, I meant David. looked at the wrong name!

ATLien- I think you mean David.
I don’t think the shooting is fishy. I think the website doesn’t want a bunch of pro-gun comments.

A woman successfully used a snubby?
Whodathunkit?
I for one have never doubted the ability of the fairer sex to properly utilize the snubnose revolver.
