Hunting people
That’s what high-capacity, death clips (or whatever the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership is calling them this week) only use. But why exempt police?

Markie Marxist sez: “High capacity, death clips are for hunting people. That’s why the police need them for hunting down private gun owners. It’s just common communist sense for them to have the best tools available when they go to do that job. Likewise, it’s just common communist sense for private gun owners to not have them when they’re getting hunted down. Besides, the private gun owners might use those clip thingies against our Marxist/warrior/hero/criminals, which would put our guys at a disadvantage, and that wouldn’t be common communist sense. It’s all very rational, really.”

I’m against anything that separates police from anyone else. That just helps that us vs them attitude.
The police shouldn’t be allowed to have anything anyone else can’t have.

I want one of those cars with the blue lights on top, just like the police use. What, I can’t have a car with blue lights? Against the law, you say, for anyone but LEO/ambulance/fire to have a car with blue lights?
The police already have lots of things civilians can’t have. Sometimes including extendable batons, mace, Tasers, shiny badges, blue lights, and so on, depending on where you live.
I agree that the more equal we keep the citizenry with the police, and vice versa, the better the policing will be.

Why should I not be allowed to have lights on the top of my car? This morning on my way in to work in a snow storm I had to stop on the side of the freeway for a car that was on fire, It would have been much safer if I had lights on the top of my truck to warn anyone coming up behind me that there was a problem and they should slow down.

We can learn from history and here is the reason some say hi-cap weapons, and all weapons for that matter, should be banned–for citizens. Just substitute the word “Americans” or U.S. Citizens” for the nationlity in this quote:
“Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA – ordinary citizens don’t need guns, as their having guns doesn’t serve the State” –Henirich Himmler, Chief of the Nazi Gestapo

That’s Heinrich Himmler (excuse the typo)

Right alan, and neither should the security detail of any poltician or public SERVANT. And that’s according to “the equal protection of the laws” (14th Amendment) of the Constitution to which they take an oath to uphold!!
