And I feel fine
Everyone is all doom and gloom about the coming apocalypse, societal collapse, whatever. Kevin, always the optimist, says we’re headed toward economic collapse, and, yeah, probably. At least, as Alan points out, our government is. Robb shares the optimism and thinks we’ll pull through. I dunno. Have you seen the average reality show star or kid at the mall?
But as the powers that be put on a show and re-arrange the deck chairs on the Titanic that will not fix the problem, Joe accurately sums up what will happen in the interim. Property rights are already increasingly under attack. Expect more of it. A grab from a desperate junkie needing a fix.

Life isn’t Jersey Shore or American Idol. They’re not indicative of the populace in general, they’re just loud. Squeaky wheel and all that.
I think there are more producers than not. I mean, every day I’m stuck in traffic with several thousand other people going to and from work and that’s just in my town. I’m not saying the government is going to collapse and only a few people are going to riot and within a week we’ll be all hunky dory, I’m just saying that overall, the American spirit could just still be enough to pull us through eventually.
Of course, that depends on how well Soros’ meetings go where he’s openly calling for the financial destruction of the United States. So there is that.

So… Glenn Beck ISN’T insane? Whodathunkit?
Look, my take on this is that the next economic collapse is going to make the Great Depression look like a day at the beach. We’re not ready for it. Because we’ve gone from a largely agrarian economy to a largely service economy, we’re REALLY not prepared for it. And it will be a worldwide crash.
Paul Erlich might finally be right about something.
Yeah, I can see the .gov seizing private farmland and handing it to the giant agricultural companies so that they can grow food to “save us.” And I can see the end result of “central planning” that will have crops rotting in the fields or in storage and people starving, too.
One thing’s sure, though. Nobody in the .gov is going to starve.
I just can’t help being such a font of hope-n-change.

I’ve probably posted something about this before, but still relevant.

A point none of the folks you have linked to has made yet (or if they did, I missed it):
Lots of other countries are not going to play nice and help us out. They are going to smell the blood in the water and go for the throat.
Can you say Mexican Reconquista (if not by the government, then at least to some extent by the drug cartels)?
For once, world leaders aren’t going to care what the US says any more.
The future of much of the world economy will be in the BRIC countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China.
