There are two things that my dad made sure I knew that he learned from getting is PhD in law.
1) There is no correlation between the law and justice.
2) A prosecutors philosophy is this: “it takes a good prosecutor to convict a guilty man, it takes a great one to convict an innocent one.” Any prosecutor who says different is lying.
I am completely unsurprised by this especially since I’m beginning to believe more and more that they are making horrible laws and prosecutor choices to make criminals out of the law abiding public. This makes it so their rights are limited, especially given how much effort they are spending to make sure juries don’t know about nullification.
Now they’re looking at restricting firearms ownership for merely being charged. If they can’t ban ownership outright, make everyone criminals! It also limits the voting ability of the productive part of the populace you’re trying to control.
May someone get a bonus by riding that DA’s ass into a jail cell. I’m normally not this cynical, but I’ve lost all faith in the legal system so it reserves a special place.
Actually this is even worse – this is what leads to so many scumbags back on the street.
Plea deals and mistrials don’t count, you just need 70%+ of at least 5 trials. That means if there’s any doubt you’ll get a conviction you just let the perp walk (at least on that charge). Better to nail someone for loitering than to risk losing on that premedititated homicide charge.

Sounds like this will make the DA’s more corrupt than the lawyers for the defendants if such a thing could be…

Sorta like “attaboys” & promotions for cops who write the most tickets.
