Scary Words

Used to describe safety devices:

Robert Lewis was, however, convicted on a fourth charge: possession of a weapon of mass destruction and death for having a homemade silencer attached to a .22-caliber rifle found by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office during a search of Lewis’ Kanton Hills home almost two years ago.

Really? That’s the charge for possessing a suppressor in NC? Odd. Usually, it’s tax evasion for not paying the $200 tax.

The DA just has a hard on for this guy. The guys son died from a self inflicted gunshot wound and he was originally charged with criminal negligence.. The reason he was not convicted is that supposedly the wife was watching the child at home at the time and knew about the weapon also. She was not charged. Her story changed between the prosecutor and his lawyers cross examination so all the jury convicted him of is possession of a suppressor…

  2. Kevin Baker Says:

Another reason I’m glad I left NC. A “weapon of mass destruction and death”??

What do you expect from the state that re-elected Mike Nifong after the Duke LaCrosse frame-up?

My best friend and his wife lives in NC. Last time I visited, he suggested that I move there. I’m pretty sure I used the word “never” about 14 times in 10 seconds.

Then I have a weapon of mass destruction and death attached to my car, though it’s usually just called a muffler.

  5. Mr Evilwrench Says:

So now, you can kill numerous people indiscriminately with a single discharge from a firearm equipped with a silencer? I had no idea they were so versatile and capable! Want!

  6. Sean D Sorrentino Says:

Yep. The law classifies SBRs, SBSs, machine guns, bombs, grenades, RPGs and silencers as “Weapons of Mass Death and Destruction.” It’s a Class F Felony, equivelent to Involuntary Manslaughter and “Discharging medical waste in Atlantic Ocean or waters of state, creating substantial risk of injury.” (seriously)

Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical weapons are called “nuclear, biological, or chemical weapon of mass destruction.” Possession is a Class B1 felony, equivelent to First Degree Rape. The only more serious crime is 1st Degree Murder.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
