Stop touching it

On the NRA floor checking out the Galco booth when some moron pulls his gun out of his holster and sticks in in a holster on the shelf.

    BAD discipline!

That wasn’t me, I got mine in the mail here!

Was he informed of his severe IQ deficit?

  4. Mike Says:

Was he open carrying or concealed? Not that it matters, still stupid.

I have noticed that the only people I know who truly follow the 4 rules are people that have taken training classes beyond the basic level, and people who shoot regularly in organized competitions.

In a class, or at a match, if you handle your gun behind the firing line or somewhere other than a designated safe handling area, you will be told, if not DQ’d. Safety trumps manners in that context.

Unfortunately, in casual shooting, everyone is too damn polite to tell their neighbor what they are doing wrong.

I am not known for my tact. The thing I am most apt to say to someone I do not know while shooting is, “Will you please put your gun away?”

So he pulled a loaded gun out in public and messed around putting it in a holster.

How stupid. In Dallas at the Market Hall gunshow a dealer showed off his custom .45 to a show attendee. Well he forgot his carry gun was loaded an sure enough it went off. Thankfully into his own tool box.

And in Oklahoma a nitwit loaded his 10mm Glock in the bathroom before leaving. But stopped at booth and showed it off. He ended up shooting another onlooker in the leg.

And (I think) in Georgia at a gunshow a guy killed a kid when his gun, he thought was unloaded, was loaded and he pulled the trigger and shot the kid in the head.

Look I’m a gun toten conservative, but at gun shows I either leave my carry gun in the car or I unloaded it and they band it at the door.

Can’t we just ban booger-eating, mouth-breathing morons and not guns.

I’ve been carrying weapons, civilian and military, for nearly half a century. Without ever generating unintentional loud noises. Proper training and discipline would ensure that the act of simply removing a gun from a holster would never cause accidental discharge. But if you never train on the removal, how will you learn? A commander of mine once told us “Regulations and rules are guides; they do not constitute universal laws.” The focus should be on safety, not paralysis.

    Please, get off my team.

I hope somebody jumped his s*** in the biggest way. He’s the guy that gets the rest of us new laws and regulations.

    Ditto what Jason said.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
