He may as well have had that machine gun. Funny, but true, in order to conceal a “firearm” in PA, or to OC in a car, a resident needs to get a PA License to Carry Firearms.
For some reason, the definition of firearm used in that section of law includes pistols, short barreled rifles, and machine guns. What it does not include is regular rifles or shotguns.
The practical effect of this is that it is highly illegal to carry a loaded rifle in your car, even in the trunk, under your PA LTCF. However, since the LTCF applies to your short barreled full auto AR-15, you can load it up and drive around with it in your trunk or on the passenger seat to your heart’s content.
