The OC bill got out of Committee, not the full house. Texas still runs off of the post reconstruction Constitution, in which we specifically made it incredibly difficult for anyone to pass anything, ever. It still hasn’t been up for a floor vote in the house.
TSRA is working this through for the fourth session in a row. We MIGHT make it this time. Lot’s of hurt feelings and blood running in the campus main talk of course. One of the really big oil company CEOs was dead set against it. Was able to turn out the employees at corporate, all who had given money to politicians. All the University and college presidents were against it.
But it might pass anyway and BLOOD WILL RUN IN THE STREETS AS DRUNK FRAT BOYS AND DISGRUNTLED EMPLOYEES KILL EVERYONE!!!!!!

I’m not holding my breath that it will pass this session. On the other hand I expected it to die in committee too so what do I know.

I’m still hopeful that it will pass this session Alan.
Have to say a HUGE thanks to the folks at the Lone Star Citizens Defense League (http://www.lonestarcdl.org) for pushing this legislation.

Our Texas State Rifle Association lobbiest does great, patient, bi-partisan work. Thank God for the membership of the TSRA.

Still would prefer campus carry and the parking lot bill to pass first, as legislative priorities go.
