RE Ohio: The House Bill only allows CCW Permit holders to carry in places that are serving alcohol, w/o having to disarm first. It does NOT allow the CCW permit holder to consume Adult Beverages while carrying, however. So it’s good news for Designated Drivers, or those who go out to eat at a place like Applebee’s, TGIFriday’s, etc. that have a bar on the premises, or those Arenas or Stadiums or Outdoor Places that are serving booze. But we still aren’t allowed to have a beer while carrying, unlike what we were able to do in Pittsburgh at the Radisson or Lidia’s. And any private business has the right to put up a sign if they don’t want firearms on their premises. But it’s still Forward Progress.

They’ve gotten us where we are by chipping away at us; we must be willing to chip away at them. Propose much, accept less (compromise, don’t you know!), then come back next year and do it again. This may be applied to many political and economic aspects.

Similar bills passed the senate. House and senate leaders are going to meet to decide whether to push the senate bills through the house or the house bills through the senate.
Either way they have to go through committee but they think they can fast-track HB45/54 through the senate. Downside to that path is SB17 has an amendment that provides relief for people who have been charged with improperly handling of a firearm under the current laws and who would be legal under the new law.

“The House voted 56-39 to approve the bill that would allow people to carry concealed guns into restaurants or bars as long as the license holder does not drink any alcohol.”
Can we bury Carrie Nation already?
What the heck is wrong with having a beer while armed? When will this inane Demon Rum stuff die?
