Open Season
Police Chief Tim Dolan uses all the hysterical rhetoric on the castle doctrine bill. The usual shoot first, guns don’t make you safer, quoting a long debunked study, and that you citizens just aren’t trained well enough. This laws keep passing despite the screeching and hysterics. Yet, an amazing thing happens. Nothing.

“The presumption that someone who carries a gun is safer is false.”
So this pinheaded police chief is going to disarm his officers? I don’t think so. When the man’s rhetoric doesn’t match his deeds, he has no credibility. Sounds like “Operation Craptalker”.

I wouldn’t say nothing happens. Castle Doctrine proved very helpful to me during a 4 day Power Outage in my town. The Mayor Decreed that His Home, the City Hall and the Wally World were to have 24/7 Police Protection, and the rest of us were on our own. You should have seen the look on those Teenage Punk Burglars who tried to rob the little old lady next door on Day 3, when they heard me racking the slide on my 12 Gauge while I was sitting on my back porch in the middle of the Night. They ran faster than a Politician hearing there was Free Money falling from the Sky!

With the Minneapolis Police Department’s record of abuse and the SWAT team’s record of hitting the wrong house, it’s obvious why Dolan opposes castle doctrine. The PD is a primary reason I’m working to get the hell out of this city.

Did he just retread is old “CCW laws will cause DOOM! if they pass” speeches from a few years before?

“Police Chief Tim Dolan uses all the hysterical rhetoric on the castle doctrine bill.”
Shouldn’t you have said “Police Chief Tim Dolan uses all the USUAL hysterical rhetoric on the castle doctrine bill.”?
Florida here–we’ve heard it all before. We’re safer now. I’d dearly love open carry here too… we’re working on it. But at least we did get “castle” with “no retreat” outside of our castle. One step at a time. (Sigh.)
