When we got it, it wouldn’t let us even STOP while the commercials played.

The power button still worked though.

  2. ctr Says:

plenty of 720p or even 1080p on the internets. Since you have the disc.. why not just download it so you can watch it?

  3. Ted N(not the Nuge) Says:

That’s too bad, it has a couple of good shoot outs. Unfortunatly, the depictions of the Swat teams is not very realistic, as they didn’t raid the wrong houses, shoot any pets, nor did they empty 2 magazines worth of ammo into an innocent man.

Other buttons to try for skipping ads/previews on DVDs:

Next Chapter (unless this is what you mean by ‘skip’)
    Fast Forward
    Menu

I have yet to see a disc that blocked all three.

You know, they say we laugh so as not to cry. Given the rampant illegalities promulgated by government, and enforced by police law encroachment; the supreme Court & RIAA & MPAA being in bed with each other, the laughter just might become hysterical.

  7. Ash Says:

The DMCA also made it illegal for you to hack your DVD players to disable that ‘feature’.

  8. Oddball Says:

That’s why I have a tendency to watch DVDs on my computer. VLC (written by people that want to use it instead of sell it) lets you skip whatever you want.

Of course, as Ash pointed out, that’s not entirely legal, but I’ve paid for a legitimate copy, DVD playback software (that pays the CSS decryption tax) came with the DVD-ROM… so they can stuff it. I’m going to consume my property the way I desire.

Go to http://www.multi-region.net and look up your player.

The Asian manufacturers put codes in their product to turn this silly US crap off every where else on the planet.

Kind of a lame movie anyway. I was really excited about it, but didn’t enjoy it.

The gun scenes were okay, but it perpetuated a lot of myths, like average bank robbers being able to easily outfit themselves with automatic M4 carbines, TEC-9s, Mini-Uzis, and even H&K UMPs and 416s.

Also, we learn that Don Draper is a terrible shot with an 870, which kind of destroys the ad man’s mystique.

  11. AJ187 Says:

Seems like they tried to position this movie along the lines of heat. No way it could live up to that epic crime movie. It was worth a watch though.

  12. Alaskan Says:

It was a “bawstin” remake of “Heat”

yet it had no Al Pacino.

  13. wizardpc Says:

In the extended version, there is a scene where Ben Affleck is watching Heat.

  14. WTF Says:

@ Ted N: LOL! Good one.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
