I do not trust purpose-built children’s literature. First, consider that this is fun and games for the same set who find Grimm, Twain, and old French fairy tales too gruesome for school. Second, it’s pretty clearly battlefield preparation for a generation who will be called upon by their government to pull the plug on Mom. Might as well start seeing her as “changed” now. It’s…what she’d want.
At least we can be assured that, amidst the reanimated soulless, there’ll be no gender or racial stereotyping. There’s not a kiddie-lit editor extant who’d pass that.
B. If you really want evidence for shark jumping, look to the books or stories about zombies as first person point of view characters or as good characters. That’s just wrong!
