A plan
One of the highlights of the LuckyGunner shoot was hearing Gene from The CalGuns Foundation speak. The good thing about current strategy is we have good lawyers. The bad news is we don’t have enough good gun lawyers.
But I was impressed at how detailed and focused he was. Lots of stuff coming down the pike.

That was a good brief. Most memorable part was about how they didn’t want to push NFA issues: “If someone is trying to push NFA issues the best thing you can do is to shoot them.” Said tongue in cheek, naturally. 🙂

I’ve had a lot of friends try to talk me into going that route, since I do find our whole legal system fascinating, and actually enjoy reading legal cases and learning the state/federal laws (sick, I know).
But, even before reading Glenn Reynolds’ posts about the higher education bubble, it wasn’t hard to do the math on that one. $100,000 or more in tuition to most likely take a large pay cut? No thanks.

I’d love to see someone work a miracle with the Hughes Amendment, as unlikely as that would be.

Well, we are the red-headed stepchildren of the gun community. We’re used to people shivving us and meaning it.

NFA is an awful lot of ground. Getting rid of Hughes is pie-in-sky right now, but SBS/SBR/AOW ought to be easy meat on “void for vagueness,” much less 2A.
