Cars 2
My son is a huge fan of the movie Cars. Cars 2 is coming out soon. I guess I’ll have to see it since it has a tribute to John Moses Browning:

Pulls a gun out of his wheel in this preview.

Context not listed in the trailer. Is the car-character supposed to be a “gangsta” type?
I can’t imagine this bit having gotten by the anti-gun people in HollyWeird, so I’m betting that in the full-length work, that car is some sort of bad-ass character. If it is, then the license plate “M1911A1” is less of a tribute than a diss.

Also, he’s voiced by Bruce Campbell.

That looked more gunfighter to me.

I thought it was something that got by Hollyweird’s censors, until i saw the *ahem* “wheelgun”. I think this car is an international spy, but I don’t know which side he’s on.

Who cares if it’s a “diss”? I’d rather be dissed by Hollywood than praised by it!
And, to a certain extent, such “dissing” would backfire–it’s likely only gunnies will notice it, and they’ll appreciate the reference, even if it’s put on a “bad guy”.
Come to think of it, though, license plates in the Cars universe is kindof creepy. Could you imagine every person being required to wear their identity number on the front and back of their clothes, everywhere they go?

International spy? Hmm… His name isn’t James Bondo by any chance?
