Safekeeping forever
In Alabama:
A Birmingham man is asking in a federal lawsuit filed this week that Birmingham police department’s policy of taking guns for “safe keeping” be declared unconstitutional after his pistol was taken by an officer two years ago and never returned although he never used, or threatened to use, it during a domestic dispute.
The lawsuit, filed Monday by Adedayo Anthony Agboola against the city of Birmingham and a police officer, claims that the taking of his gun, and the seizing of guns from other licensed gun owners in similar circumstances, was in violation of constitutional guarantees to bear arms, to be free from unreasonable search and seizures, and due process of law.
Should be interesting. Sure, domestic violence cases aren’t the most sympathetic. But the report says there was not violence and I don’t see any that he was convicted.

He might be able to win, based on that Federal Law that was passed after Katrina, which said the Only Ones were NOT allowed to take peoples guns from them during an emergency w/o due process. So if it applies to a Big Crisis, shouldn’t it apply to a small one?
Of course, some Elites seem to think that the Debacles at Ruby Ridge and Waco don’t apply to them….

Birmingham is in the running for most corrupt city in America and this is just further evidence….

I hope he wins. Birmingham does the same thing when they hassle open carriers. Usually they get their guns back once the Sheriff reissues their carry permit (usually happens within a few days).
But, yeah, Birmingham is a retched hive of scum and villainy.
