But remember… Walgreen’s policies are there for the protection of the customers and employees. It has nothing to do with avoiding lawsuits.

This is terrible and everything, but I think we should look at that last paragraph of the story: “Police think the robber ran to a car to get away.” Really, Kojak? Well, those are some pretty serious investigative skills right there.
Now back to the serious side: I hope the clerk survives and recovers.

The safest thing to do in the event of a robbery is to silently pull your own pistol, and start shooting immediately, according to Gary Kleck’s Point Blank study.
All other options have a much higher injury/death rate.

I was told years ago that the robber just wants the money; he doesn’t want to shoot anyone. I carry concealed here in north Florida. Anyone points at me, I will punch his ticket to The Promised Land. Those thugs are worse than the moccasins.
