Riots in Vancouver over a game their sports team lost. To Americans, who don’t really like hockey. Or soccer.

Hey, Dude! Maybe south of the Mason Dixon they don’t like Hockey, but in these parts where the lakes freeze Hokey is pretty serious stuff…tho overall it doesn’t quite compare to Tree-Hockey (B-Ball) Football, and Baseball.
But it isn’t Soccor of Jai alai…

Hockey’s kind of a big deal, even in the Midwest. It’s not as big as baseball or football, but you’re seeing a lot more amateur and kids’ hockey teams these days.

Yeah Chance, I have to say, I watch a heck of a lot more soccer and hockey then any other sports. Plus I play and coach soccer. Don’t assume your audience enjoys your same sports or teams. That being said, I think sports related riots are ridiculous, just a bunch of drunk idiots out destroying stuff for now good reason.

Unpossible. Vancouver is a tolerant and progressive city.

Junior-league is very popular in my [fair] city, to the tune of two total paralyses in the last five years.
You think junior shooting is expensive? The gear and club fees are just less than a Champions Choice account, they run out 300 miles for a typical face-off, and rinks often give the juniors ice time at 3 or 4 in the morning. I know it used to be played on a pond with a hoe and a frozen horse-puck, but it’s become one of the ultimate use-up-the-family sports.
Builds character.

We rioted in Vancouver back in 1994 when we lost the cup in game 7 to the Rangers. I predicted this riot a month ago.

The riot wasn’t started by hockey fans, it was started by anarchists, the same ones who started the G20 riot. This had nothing to do with sports.

Come to Michigan anytime, hockey is huge up were I used to live. And Bill is right there are only 2 seasons of the year. But I have to be honest and say that we probably like hockey so much because it is the only professional sport we have a chance to win at in MI…….
