Interest group
Sean wonders why gun bloggers aren’t an interest group. And is does seem to me that maybe politicians should talk to someone about guns. That way, when they start talking, they look like they know what they’re talking about.

I have heard some people ask to be put in a reporter’s Rolodex so that when a gun story comes up the writer can reference this person as a fact-checker.
As far as gun bloggers being an interest group, the new media’s individualism is what makes it such a powerful force.

We tried helping the pols with (R) after their name here in Washington State. They actually figured this out themselves and made the request.
They were, umm, disappointed, that we weren’t the types to stand for creeping gun control laws that the folks with (D) after their name kept trying to get passed and that we weren’t willing to compromise and after a few meetings they stopped writing to us.

Thanks for the link.
You are correct. A little knowledge about guns would go a long way towards a politician not looking like an utter fool. Plus, we as a gun owners are banking on the concept of a little knowledge about guns will inoculate people against the utter stupidity of most gun control laws.

Pols actually asking questions of people who actually KNOW things? Heaven forfend. If they did such a thing, they would no longer be able to live in the Reich of Make-Believe.
