ATF Round Up
Acting director may resign.
If Melson goes, Traver comes in?
A look at motivations and activities in the administration. I’ve heard a lot of folks wondering if this is what Obama meant back when he said he was working on gun control under the radar.
Seen on facebook: Imagine the DEA telling pharmacists to illegally sell oxycontin to known drug dealers or they would be shut down. Then imagine the DEA using the fact that more oxycontin was on the street (and hundreds of overdose deaths) as a pretext for making it harder for patients to get prescribed narcotics. This is essentially what happened with the ATF and Project Gunwalker

There needs to be a way to criminally prosecute people for egregiously attempting to tamper with The Constitution. The people involved need to be punished. At the highest level, they should hang. At the lowest level, they should be relegated to scraping bubblegum from park benches … on Adak. … In short pants.

The DEA already does that without the need to flood the streets with Oxy.
And in case you hadn’t noticed. The drug war is probably the biggest current threat to the 2nd. And not a word of that. Not a word.

War on Drugs not only affects the 2nd, but the 4thA as well, Illegal searchs and seizures are at an all-time high! Heck, agencies are now encouraged to self-fund through seizures of assets without the “nicety” of, say “due process”. They want it? They get it and you can’t easily get it back!

Actually, an even better example would be the DEA forcing the pharmacies to sell, then citing the overdose deaths in CANADA as a reason that Americans can’t get their prescriptions.

Isn’t it really more like forcing convenience stores to sell a legal product like cigarettes to underage children in order to destroy the sale and distribution of cigarettes to adults?

The A T F as well as many other government agencies reminds me of a group of monkeys in a zoo all trying to figure out what to do to be worth their keep, and are failing in their efforts.

This administration is peopled by people enthralled by the possibilities of the ”the Reichstag Fire” –and acting on it.
Someday, the truth of the BOP atop the Macondo well will get out. Possibly by someone wondering about “Det Norske Veritas”.

The DOJ and Obama Administration appear to be in the unenviable position of explaining to the US Congress and American people how draining a swamp by adding alligators was supposed to work.
Hombre, pass the popcorn!
